We made it and we only have two words to say . . . very tired. 11 hours on a plane is not fun, I don't care if they are feeding you shots of hard liquor continously. Just kidding. We are in the Nadi (pronounced with a short "a" we have learned) airport and it is 6:30 am, June 7th. You figure out the math as to the time difference. We've tried and failed. The sun is just coming up here and in about an hour and a half we will be picked up by Daniel from the Octopus Resort, www.octopusresort.com. The boat ride out to our island (Waya Island) is about 1 1/2 hours. This little jaunt will be our first test to see if I have sea legs or not. Speeding (or rather sputtering) up and down the Kentucky River in Alan's Polarkraft doesn't count. If I am yurking at the end, you will definitely hear about it in my next post. If you visit the webpage for the Octopus, we will be staying in one of the garden bures. None of the rooms at the Octopus have air conditioning so we will be one with nature this week (it is 75 degrees now, yes, at 6:00 am).
One more thing, for those of you that don't know I got my open water diving SCUBA license on Saturday (Alan has had his for some time). I had to dive in a muddy Kentucky lake to get it mind you, but nonetheless I have it. Waya island supposedly has good snorkeling and there is a dive center attached to our resort so we will let you know what we see. I am keeping my fingers crossed for no sharks.

Great to read that you are both safe. Remember to be friendly to the captain when scuba diving out in the ocean . . . do not get left behind.
Shelley and I are glad you made the first leg of your trip, that is, if Dan the man showed up. We'll be watching your blog. Love.
You need to collect at least 4 shells on every island you visit - 1 each for you and Alan and the other 2 for me and Etel.
Have fun!
Hey Alan & Kelly! Every thing is fine in Owensboro. We enjoy your blog very much and are looking forward to the first pictures. Congratulations to Kelly on her first dives in places much nicer than a muddy Kentucky lake.Enjoy yourselves and take care of each other.
