We will be posting blogs (and hopefully pictures soon) about our stay at Octopus Resort throughout the next few days since we did not have Internet access there to update you.
At the resort, we saw so many beatiful things underwater that we wanted to list them for those that are interested in scuba diving/snorkelling or nature in general.
We saw some types of fish almost everyday, including: Moorish Idol (that black, yellow and white fish from the movie Finding Nemo that is in the bowl in the dentist's office) - which BTW is just absolutely gorgeous, several types of triggerfish (including the Titan which is very large), sergeants, parrotfish, damsels, unicornfish and butterflyfish, filefish, lizardfish, fusiliers, goatfish, squid and long-jaw mackerel. The triggerfish and parrotfish, which can be quite large and colorful, were everywhere throughout the reef.
Some underwater treats, which we saw only occasionally or just once: blue sea star, sea anemone fish - like Nemo, porcupin fish, pufferfish, trumpetfish, flutefish, lobster, longtoms, giant clam, lionfish and blue-spotted stingray.
Each truly was a treat to see! We tried to take some underwater pictures in the sunny and shallow reefs off the beach, but we won't hold our breath. We know it is difficult to get good shots this way that turn out.
