ECON 102 - What Kids Learn through Osmosis

One of Kelly's excellent home-cooked meals
I figured it was time to start noting more the economics in action that I see around me. ECON 101 was the Ugly Tourist post. This post is for/about my budding economist Brewer. At dinner one night, he asked/begged for some of our coveted and sparsely used grated parmesan cheese (it's quite expensive here in Alanya although other cheeses are everywhere). He also remarked on how often we ate fruit now. On his own, he asked if we did not use the cheese much because some things (like the cheese) are more expensive here and other things (like the fruit) are more expensive at home. I told him he could give this lesson to my students here and now he expects to be in front of the class soon. He probably deserves it! - Alan
